Falling in love is a little like being insane. Initially "falling in love" is based on feelings that can change at a moment's notice.
The words, "I love you", often means that a couple enters a phase of obsession. This other person can do no wrong and is perfect for us.
But then the high dissipates and we see the faults in the other and it's easy to major on these minors.
The "in love" experience does not directly lead to long term commitment. While it can be viewed as a foundation for a healthy relationship, it can be temporary and unpredictable.
Scriptures in the Song of Solomon refer to "falling in love" but they do not emphasize this type of love.
Rather the Bible describes love as an attitude with accompanying behavior. (Ephesians 5:25)
